What began 13 years ago with a collection of great pieces has grown into one of the world's most unique luxury brands. With immense inspiration for the love of leather goods and accessories, Jas Sehmbi has always been one to involve people to be a part of this creative journey.

African-born, Jas Sehmbi, relocated to India at the age of four, before finally settling in England in 1970. Since leaving school, he chose to specialise in Art at Eastham College, Stratford. On completing the Art Foundation, the young creative began retailing small leather and canvas bags just three months on. By 1985, Sehmbi was designing his own bags and launched his first shop in Essex.

1. Who are the top 5 companies you would consider competition?
2. With those top 5 companies, how is your brand different? Are your materials very unique, are they recycled, are you utilizing a new sewing method etc.  
3. Run preliminary numbers to make sure your brand will be competitive and you will be able to make money.
4. Are your suppliers reliable?

Yes, it is really difficult to find a reliable supplier/factory as you have no idea about their production, their standard and tons of questions. So, please make sure you have to know all those stuffs before starting your own production and it will save you much time and cost later on.

Pendalore - bicycle bags & accessories Los Angeles & San Diego, CA


Inspiration for Pendalore struck at The History of Bicycles exhibit in Florence, Italy.  Liz Strazzella was struck by the design quality and unique approach to the purpose-oriented manufacturing of vintage bicycles as well as the accessories that came with them.  She realized craftsmanship and functionality are too often sacrificed in today’s fashion industry, and cyclists need a functional product on the road and a wearable product in the office.  Now was the time to change pace.  After joining forces with company co-founder and established accessory designer Tara Sauvage, Pendalore was born.  Pendalore is a brand dedicated to creating artisanal, high-quality leather bicycle accessories that satisfy modern technical demands both on and off the bike.  Because those who demand form and function deserve to get both.
