My Lightbulb moment: Handbag designer Charlotte Jamme had her business idea while talking to other mothers in a jacuzzi

Charlotte Jamme, 47, founded Mia Tui, a brand of stylish travel bags, in 2011. She lives in Milton Keynes with her husband Philippe and their two children, Amelie, 14, and Mia, 13.

I’ve never been a ‘handbag girl’, though I do remember buying my first, at 14: a tan bag by Jane Shilton — it’s probably quite ugly now, but I loved it. I’d saved up all my money to buy it. It was a defining moment of feeling like a grown-up. But I never thought I’d design my own.

During my 20s, I did marketing for drinks brands in London. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t a passion.
